Jimi Hendrix Experience 1967 signed concert poster

13 Oct

Original bright yellow 20 x 30 promotional poster for a Jimi Hendrix Experience concert at Hastings Pier, England, on October 22, 1967, signed on the back in blue ballpoint, “Jimi Hendrix,” “Noel Redding,” and “Mitch.” Reverse is also signed in blue ballpoint by Graham Nash of the Hollies. In very good condition, with intersecting storage folds, with all three of the band’s signatures on a single panel, scattered creases, two small holes to top corners, and a small area of paper loss to lower left.

Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the son of the original recipient which reads, in part: “My mother regularly attended gigs at Hasting Pier during the sixties and seventies. Whilst at the October 1967 Jimi Hendrix Experience gig she told me she got chatting to Jimi’s sister and was dancing in the crowd. After the gig she invited my mother back to the band’s dressing room/trailer to meet them all. I’m not sure if she pulled the poster off of the wall before or after this, but once she was with the band she asked them all to sign the poster for her. Since that night it has been kept folded up in a drawer with other autographs.” Hendrix was in the middle of his second European tour in support of the band’s critically acclaimed album Are You Experienced. A vibrant example—on a seldom seen format—with direct and personal association to a Hendrix concert. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
