Beatles John Lennon Signed book In His Own Write

Signed book: In His Own Write. Later printing. London: Jonathan Cape, 1964. Hardcover, 5.5 x 7, 78 pages. John Lennon Maclen Ltd. Business Check

Rare Maclen (Music) Ltd. business check, 8 x 4, filled out in another hand and boldly signed by Lennon, payable to Audiotek for £156-15-0, July 7, 1970. John Lennon and Yoko Ono Promotional copy of the Double Fantasy album signed

Promotional copy of the Double Fantasy album signed on the back in black ballpoint in the sky area of the Kishin Shinoyama photo, “Love, John Lennon” and “Yoko Ono.” The record is not included. The album jacket, which is embossed with ‘Promotional Copy Not For Sale,’ and also bears a sticker which states, “Includes the single (Just Like) Starting Over,” just below the name Yoko Ono on the front cover, has been split along the top and bottom seams so as to display both sides, then matted and framed to an overall size of 32.5 x 20. A mild area of moisture discoloration and two spots of minor surface loss to upper left corner of back cover, and a small affixed photo covering an inscription, otherwise fine condition.

This particular album was once owned by Dick Clark, and is accompanied by a 2006 auction book from Guernsey’s in which the item previously appeared, and also by two Frank Caiazzo letters: a letter of authenticity, and an appraisal letter for the album issued in February 2007. To date, less than ten signed copies of Double Fantasy have been documented, as Lennon signed a scant handful of promotional copies for close friends and associates. This example, according to Caiazzo, was signed during the last week of November 1980, just two weeks before Lennon’s murder on December 8. A true rock rarity which would hold a place of distinction in any Beatles or music collection. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
